In its role as catalyst for positive change, The Calgary Foundation - by applying its resources, expertise and leadership, and through working in partnership with others to identify and address community needs, secured the funding for a significant initiative - Harvie Passage - involving the redevelopment of the dangerous weir.

Harvie Passage is not yet open to the public. A series of safety and hydraulic testing must be completed. This testing needs to be done at different water levels throughout the season. Subsequent to testing, a safety signage and public information program will be rolled out.

We and our partners expect that Harvie Passage will open to the public in 2012, our original anticipated completion date.
