The Calgary Foundation and the Calgary Public Library will be hosting a series of Vital Conversations in 2010.
Vital Conservations create dynamic community forums for Calgarians to discuss local quality of life issues
that build on the results of from the 2009 Vital Signs Report.
The 2nd event in the series of 2010 Vital Conversations is on the topic of Getting Started -
Working collectively to address emerging needs facing new Calgarians.
. Here's is your opportunity to Have Your Say and connect with other Calgarians about what's working and what's not in our rapidly changing city.
This event will:
- enhance citizen awareness on issues, assets, success stories and organizations active in this field
- build new relationships/connections by providing opportunity for discussion among Calgarians
- support individual and collective action

The Calgary Foundation is partnering with the Calgary Public Library and the Federation of Calgary Communities to host Jane’s Talk – a film/discussion that explores the legacy of urban writer and activist, Jane Jacobs. The feature film, “Urban Goddess: Jane Jacobs Reconsidered” considers the livable city; an issue that directly impacts the quality of life of Calgarians.

Federal Budget 2010
The federal government announced significant reforms to the disbursement quota in the 2010 budget. The changes are designed to reduce administrative complexity and better enable charities to focus their time and resources on charitable activities.
